Faculty Recital March 17th 1985

CHARLESTON, IL–Dr. George Sanders, Associate Professor of Music at
Eastern Illinois University, will present a faculty recital on Sunday, March
17 at 7:30p.m. in Dvorak Concert Hall.
Included in the program will be five pieces from Milhaud’s Saudades
do Brazil, Liszt’s Funerailles, Schumman-Liszt’s Widmung, and Schumman’s G
Minor Sonata, Opus 22.
Sanders will also perform Three Short Pieces, a selection written by
his colleague Chris Granias, a pianist-composer who joined Eastern’s faculty
last fall.
With Karen Larvick Sanders, Sanders will play Clementi’s Sonata in
B-flat for two pianos and Ravel’s suite, Ma Mere, L’Oye for four hand duet.
A Chicago native, Sanders began teaching at Eastern in 1964. He holds
music degrees from the University of Illinois, Yale University, and the University
of Iowa.
